Poor performance by your CRM system is a problem. This is particularly insidious as the CRM system can slow down over time and change so slowly as to be unnoticeable. Often it takes an effort to realize just how slow your system has become.
It may be the system has become overloaded. Too many people trying to handle too many entries will result in poor performance on any kind of computer system. The potential cures for this are varied and range in cost from just about nothing to expensive.
If your CRM system is having to compete for resources with other programs the result can overload the system and slow down operations. One straightforward solution in this case is to reschedule the competing application to run at a time when the CRM system isn't as busy. Running things like accounting programs during off hours is a relatively inexpensive way to speed up system performance.
It may also be that the CRM system is getting in its own way. This can often be fixed by tuning the database that underlies the CRM system.Databases are notoriously sensitive to the exact parameters of their programming. As the load on a CRM system grows the setup of the database can become suboptimal and may need to be adjusted to bring it back to peak performance.
This is usually straightforward but it is a job for an expert. Mucking about with the CRM database by inexperienced people can slow the system even further – or reduce your CRM server to a nonperforming brick. Unless you have someone on your staff who is experienced in database performance issues, it's best to hire an outside consultant to tune up your database.
Sometimes the only cure is to update your hardware. This is the most expensive route and is usually pursued only after other methods have been tried.
If you think you need new hardware, the place to start is taking a hard look at your system's log files. The CRM log file and the log file for your server can often pinpoint the cause of poor performance and suggest what needs to be done to fix it.
There are a lot of parts of the system that could be slowing you down. The processor is a possibility, but usually a low-ranking one. Modern processors have a lot more power relative to the balance of the system and are often the last thing to bog down.
Memory is a distinct possibility. If your system doesn't have enough memory for the increased workloads, it will slow down performance.
The network connecting your server to your desktops is another strong possibility. Networks can overload as the amount of use increases and need to be either retuned or upgraded. Again, a look at your system's log files will tell you what is happening.
Storage is another possibility. If your system's disk space is getting full your performance will degrade. Check the log files and consider adding more storage to bring performance back up to snuff.

Have you ever been editing a file of some kind... having worked on it, perhaps for hours, and then something happens, your application closes, and you lose your work? Did you get that sinking feeling in your stomach and thought "Oh, crap.... now I lost my work and I'll have to do it again."?
What if one day you came into the office, turned on your computer - and found that you not only lost the last file you were working on - but you lost all of them. And in there place were files you didn't recognize, with names like: "a23984798usd98fus89dfus98fnsdiofuosdijfklsdf908sduf9sd8fusd908funsdoifj.exe"
Worse yet, when you went to find your backups - which you take religiously and keep on attached USB hard disks - nice and safe - you also find a whole bunch of files with the same types of names.
You think to yourself, whats going on? Where is all my stuff? And then it hits you - you are the victim of a crypto-attack.
Think this only happens to big companies? Think that it could never happen to you? I urge you to think again.
These days, there are actually two types of things that can happen:
1. You get hit by a crypto-virus. This tends to be less severe than a crypto-hack, in that they tend to be a bit "dumb" and don't necessarily do a thorough job of their dirty-work. However, they tend to wind their way through your servers and desktops, encrypting and messing up accounting system data, corporate files, and more. An unfortunate fact about crypto-viruses is that even if you think they are gone - they can hide out, and all it takes is 1 user on your network opening an infected file - and the virus will pop up again and grab all of your data. These viruses claim that if you contact the virus maker and pay a fee, they will un-encrypt your data. But will they?
2. You get hacked by a crypto-hacker. This tends to be more severe. These people have no interest in your data, they aren't hacking you to steal anything. But they know that *YOU* care about your data - and so they will go through everything, everywhere that they can get their hands on, and they will intentionally look for and encrypt things like databases, and your backups. Their intent: to hold you hostage. They do their work from far-away places, and they know what they are doing - they work to ensure you have no way to recover without them.
Think this type of thing cannot or won't happen to you? You are too small, or too unimportant? Unfortunately, that just isn't the case.
This hit home for us last week when we received notice from two separate clients, in different cities, about having been hit.
Client #1 - got hit by a crypto-virus for the 4TH TIME. Each time it has hit, its severely messed up their operations. They have been able to recover due to the virus missing key files, and because they had backups. But each time it happens, they are out of business for several days, and the costs to recover have been large.
Client #2 - got hit by a crypto hacker. Here is the message we receive from them:
This client, unfortunately has no obvious way to recover, as the hacker also got in and encrypted their backups. They encrypted their databases, and all of their corporate files. The purpose: extortion. $15,000.
It doesn't matter how big or how small you are. You are a target. Protect yourself today.
CRM Systems can help. Our network of qualified network administrators can help you secure yourself, and ensure you have a method to recover should the worst happen. We also offer our private cloud solution - monitored and protected, proactively, 24x7. Have you considered private cloud as a way to protect yourself? Has the quality of data affected your financial situation at your company? Many businesses are trying to figure out with the practical problem of how to turn the amount of client data they collect into real and measurable corporate gain. As Customer Relation Management software features change and new technology for data collection hits the market at a rapid pace, extracting meaning from data ( data analytics) has become priority one for all organizations. Creating multi-dimensional client profiles allows companies to make meaningful patterns from collected data that show more detail and personality about clients than ever before. It proves to be the optimal strategy for creating successful and long-term customer relationships.
Creating multi-dimensional consumer profiles is a way to collect data and measure complex sets of indicators in a way that is achievable and very effective for organizational success. Many executives are referring to the current problem of converting data into meaningful, profitable results as "data fatigue," and the knowledge, skills necessary to make sense of that massive collection of data are in demand throughout the world in information technology community. Multi-dimensional consumer profiles are exciting in the sense that they inform IT professionals and promote creative development of advertising campaigns that people enjoy and proud to follow.
Data collection has become an ongoing and important part of everyday businesses. Because of digital data collection, companies have more specific information about product specifications, the production process and personal financial investment than ever before. Consumers want to communicate with businesses via social media and other communication. Multi-dimensional consumer profiles show companies how they can adjust their brand identity by changing advertising campaigns to match clients' preferred product and advertising styles. Brand identity is now being directed by an active public consumer voice that was not heard from before the social media revolution.
With multi-dimensional client profiles, graphic designers and advertisers have more specific information about customer choices in color, shape, action and plot than they have ever had before. Such specific customer preference information allows businesses to create different types of advertising campaigns designed that will speak to such preferences and convince consumers to make a financial investment.
Following media, and knowing the news on a timely basis is vitally important. Rapid transfer of information can make all the difference between having your corporate achievement, customer complaint, or announcement noticed by your communications department. Knowing the financial significance of what is trending, where and how has become essential business knowledge. Multi-dimensional consumer profiles can help you keep up to date on such trends, as well as facilitate a process of communication with consumers that maximizes potential win-win situations. Multi-dimensional customer profiles have been known to assist companies in resolving disputes, preventing conflict, and peacefully and collaboratively negotiating conflict.
